Dr. Chip Kimball currently serves as the Superintendent of the International School of Prague, leading through
the school's most significant improvement process to date. The team has unwavering focus on becoming one of the most innovative and impactful progressive IB school systems in all of Europe. Chip has led schools overseas since 2012 after over two decades of leadership in US school districts in WA and CA. He is best known as an innovator, technologist, systems thinker and develoopmental leader of teams and individuals. His perspective on education has been significantly shaped by his early days as a CTO and later influenced by his work as a large district superintendent, and then an international schools leader.
From 2012-2019 Chip was the Superintendent of the Singapore American School (SAS), the largest single-campus international school in the world. SAS has a worldwide reputation for excellence, high student achievement, and innovation. His most notable work was ground breaking improvement through a comprehensive R&D process where faculty visited schools worldwide. The process resulted in progressive education programs now referenced in schools and districts around the globe.
Before going overseas, Chip served sixteen years in the Lake Washington school district (WA) becoming superintendent in 2007. His work in LWSD resulted in recognition as one of the most innovative school districts in the US. In 2010, Dr. Kimball recognized nationally for technology leadership and also Superintendent of the Year by the Washington Library Media Association. Chip worked for the California Center for School Restructuring, providing leadership to 144 schools in 101 districts implementing education reform.
Dr. Kimball holds a bachelor’s degree from Whitworth University, master’s degree from Eastern Washington University, and a doctorate University of Southern California. Most recently Chip completed the LEAD program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in Corporate Innovation.
