Chris Yon (he/him/his)

Christopher Yon is the Executive Director for Instructional Technology Operations in Richardson ISD. Christopher has spent more than 26 years in education (25 of it at RISD). Chris has a BA from Texas A&M at College Station and an MS from the University of North Texas. He holds three teaching certifications in history, government and technology applications. A classroom teacher in the late 1990s, Chris eagrly embraced coming technology trends to ensure his students were engaged with the curriculm. His enthusiasm translated to a new role of instructional technology specialist for the next decade before making the leap to the central office in 2015. There, Chris has been part of a dynamic Richardson central technology team for the last eight years who's decisions are making an impact on the integration of technology into today's classrooms. When not heavily debating technology goals with his coworkers, you can find Chris enjoying the outdoors, repairing cars, or building things.
