The roles that technology plays in education today differs greatly from pre-pandemic levels. Technology is the glue that holds our system in K-16 education together and will surely continue to expand. While we figure out how to apply technology to improve education and solve problems in practice, those leading these departments are coming into the profession from a multitude of diverse backgrounds. Today’s K-12 Education CTO is a master of multiple trades and one that can create common ground and understanding with their community, school board and superintendent. This session targets educational technology leaders from all walks of life and introduces the experience of a school administrator turned technology leader during the pandemic and explores lessons learned to create an environment in education where the IT office is embraced as an educational partner.
