Carla Wade has been the Digital Innovations Lead in the Office of Teaching, Learning and Assessment at the Oregon Department of Education for 22 years. She has provided leadership in technology for learning in Oregon and nationally for 22 years working with federal grants, STEM, and served as a technical advisor to the US Department of Education on digital learning. In 2001 she established the Oregon Ed Tech Professional Development Cadre that is entering its 21st year of operation. Carla has been an active member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) serving on the Board of Directors 2006-08 and the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) where she served on the Board of Directors from 2002-2007 and 2014-2020. She has also been a member of the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Education Information Management Advisory Collaborative (EIMAC) and the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN).
Carla Wade leads with equity at the center of decision-making and the implementation of her work. She is a connector and solution builder who works to bring networks of people together from diverse backgrounds to strategize, innovate and learn. She strives to bring schools, districts, communities, higher education and business partners together to network and leverage limited resources to create solutions. Carla works collaboratively with partners in Oregon and nationally to build and expand quality education environments where students have equitable access to tools, effective teachers and processes for learning that inspire them to develop college and career ready skills and a desire for life-long learning.
This week, Carla has joined the CoSN Team as the Senior Director of External Relations.
