Karla K. Burkholder, EdD, CETL

Dr. Karla Burkholder, CETL is the Director of Technology in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD and serves as a Professor of Practice at Baylor University. She is a Past President of TCEA, ISTE Making IT Happen award recipient, and was named to the 2019 EdTech Digest Top 100 Influencers in Ed Tech. Her professional activities include memberships in Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), CoSN, ISTE, Texas Education Technology Leaders (TETL), and Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). She has served on the board of directors of the Texas Council of Women School Executives, TCEA, and TETL. She currently serves as the Texas Education Technology Leaders Board Secretary.

Dr. Burkholder earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Education and Master of Science in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems from the University of North Texas, and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Burkholder and been married to her husband Stacy for 35 years. They have a son, Matt, daughter Lauren, son-in-law Jameson and two fur babies Sarah and Duke.
