Natonal School Public Relations Association Associate Director Mellissa Braham, APR, MSC, has 25 years of experience in public relations, working primarily in the education and healthcare sectors. In her current leadership role with NSPRA, she coordinates communication audit services, oversees chapter relations, develops conference programming, delivers presentations for school district and communication leaders, liaises with association and industry partners, develops association content and more. This work includes coordinating NSPRA's 2022 campaign on Schools and Social Media: The Critical Need for Dedicated Verification and Reporting Processes.
Over the years, she has served as a trusted strategic adviser and communications professional for dozens of public school districts and school leaders as well as in the areas of healthcare, higher education and law practice. She has helped organizations build stronger stakeholder relationships through new and improved opportunities for engagement, well-crafted messages that garner trust and thoughtful crisis management strategies. She has also delivered numerous presentations on topics such as school finance communications, employer branding and recruitment, consent building, building a culture of communications and auditing a communication program.
Before joining the NSPRA staff in 2018, she earned a NSPRA Gold Medallion Award for advocacy efforts in 2013, a NSPRA Golden Achievement Award for capital project communications in 2016 and multiple state and national excellence awards for publications.
