Doug Brubaker, CETL, MEd, PhD

Dr. Doug Brubaker joined Texarkana Independent School District as superintendent in January 2021. In October 2021, Dr. Brubaker and his team launched the TISD Imagine 2026 Strategic Planning Initiative, working extensively with stakeholders to identify and prioritize the district’s greatest needs. This was followed by a citizen-driven prioritization process that led to a $189 million, instructionally focused bond package approved by voters in November 2022. Key projects include safety and security upgrades, renovation or replacement of aging school facilities, and new school buses. Construction projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Dr. Brubaker has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kansas, an M.Ed. from Texas Christian University, and a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas. Doug and Heather have been married for 25 years and have a daughter who attends school in the district.
