Nathan serves as the Chief Privacy and Information Security Officer at GaDOE (Georgia Department of Education). He works to promote data governance and cybersecurity best practices both within GaDOE and across all Georgia districts and schools, working to provide tools, resources, awareness, and training. Current initiatives include providing cybersecurity training to every district in Georgia, implementing solutions to give districts visibility into their cybersecurity posture, and increasing awareness of cybersecurity issues in the K-12 community. Prior to his tenure at GaDOE, he served as technology director with Toombs County Schools (Georgia) and as a network engineer with Jeff Davis County Schools (Georgia).
