As one of the district's four cornerstones, Lewisville ISD (Texas) takes resource stewardship seriously. This includes technology usage and inventory management. As districts have increased the number of mobile devices being assigned to students and staff, challenges are presented for device management and inventory management. Population transiency, multiple modalities of learning, increasing staff turnover and more remote work and school contribute to the complexity. Since 2012, the district has had a 1:1 initiative and has worked over the years to develop mature processes to account for mobile devices. These processes help make sure students continue to have access to learning devices and also helps maintain community trust regarding effective resources management.
